A lot of people ask me: 'What is a good User Experience ?' and the quote below hits the nail on the head. I often say to people that a good user experience (in a nutshell) is 'ensuring that user can get to their end goal as quickly and as easily as possible'
Adding faff (or distractions) as part of that journey is only going to annoy people which will ultimately make people want to abandon their journey and leave your website.
Let's remember, we are designing for the user, not ourselves.
Good user experience doesn’t have to be memorable, but it does have to make you feel something. Ideally, it should make you feel like getting a product to solve your problem was easy. Effortless, even.
